Laptop or ITX build?

I don't have a lot of working space for a tower so any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

If you don't mind carrying along the monitor, mouse and keyboard then get a portable ITX PC

Honestly, get an ITX PC. Carrying stuff around may seem silly, but the customizablility of an ITX is far better than relying on a laptop that you can only make minimal changes to.

do u plan to travel with it? 

if yes, can think about the asrock deskmini, get a logitech keyboard, and hook it up to the hotel. 

 

if no, my humble opinion is stick to itx. get the fracal 202 case.

depends on your use case and how often you're going to be moving it. if you just don't have a lot of room at your desk and it's going to stay there, then ITX. if you're traveling a lot or constantly needing to move your computer, then get a laptop

ITX build. 

 

Laptop heats up faster and generally does not live as long as desktop.

I travel often between UK and Italy s I study in England, but I go back to my home country for holidays etc. 

In June I decided to ditch my old laptop and go the ITX route. I built a small but decently powerful system (Ryzen 5 1600 + RX 580) in a Fractal Design Node 202 and did not regret it. I love my small machine, it’s literally as big as an Xbox One. 

 

The only hassle was to buy a monitor in the UK, as I couldn’t be bothered to carry mine from Italy. But I got a used one and will just resell it when I’m done with Uni. 

 

As for mouse and keyboard, I had those to game on my laptop... so not much of a difference. 

 

To transport it I fitted some foam in a carry-on luggage to keep it safe from damage. You can view some pics of how I fitted the foam here: https://it.pcpartpicker.com/b/PgbXsY

What i dislike about this case is the lack of dust filters. I have seen some people

custom fitting them, but I didn’t want to go through the hassle. 

 

Furthermore, I have seen that the Sugo chassis bends way too easily, not the best whem you need to travel: you want something sturdy, no matter how much protection around it you put.
