Posted October 17, 2017 My laptop has had its second hard drive failure. I am done with fixing it. I have 1500 cad (1200 usd) maximum to spend on a laptop. I don't really care about form factor. I will use for video editing and Photoshop, light gaming.

Any less, and you don't get the features you need. Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you. chEcK iNsidE sPoilEr fOr a tREat! Posted October 17, 2017 @SquarishBongo I'll be different and recommend the new Inspiron 15. Not the gaming one. You can get the regular Inspiron 15 with an i7-850u and 940MX (4GB, DDR5 - should be sufficient?) for $1399 CAD: http://www.dell.com/en-ca/shop/dell-laptops-netbooks-and-tablets/inspiron-15-7000-laptop/spd/inspiron-15-7570-laptop It has expandable memory up to 32GB, you can grab a 8GB stick from Newegg for $70-80 CAD to get your 16 GB of RAM. Before I ordered my XPS 15 I was considering to purchase this laptop, but the 7573 2-in-1 model. The 2-in-1 version is on sale for $1299 CAD, but it has a slightly worse GPU (940MX, 2GB DDR5): http://www.dell.com/en-ca/shop/dell-laptops-netbooks-and-tablets/inspiron-15-7000-laptop/spd/inspiron-15-7570-laptop also upgradable to 16GB of RAM, but with a 256GB SSD and i7-8550u - it's regular price is $1600 CAD so quite a deal there.
