okay so a little background first. I am currently working on a desktop that currently has me stumped as to what the issue is. First here are some specs:

Gigabyte Z97X Motherboard

I7-4790k (No OC)

16gb DDR3-1600

Asus Strix GTX970 4gb

Seasonic 80 plus gold 750W semi-modular power supply

Crucial 476 GB SSD

Cooler master Hyper 212 EVO

Forgot to add its running windows 7 home premium

So the problem is that every time I run a stress test on the cpu with Aida 64 either on the CPU or IGPU the system crashes and restarts. there is no voltage or O.C. of any kind applied. as for the stress tests there is no thermal throttling observed and when the CPU is stressed in crashes in 2 seconds or less and when the IGPU is stressed it lasts 1-2 minutes before crash I was wondering if anyone had seen anything like this before. the system is only 3-4 years old and I am so far stumped any help that can be given would be greatly appreciated. thank you in advance.

Try running memtest86, sounds like there could be an issue with the RAM since it's not overheating.

You could try running the prime95 test on "Blend" instead of Small FFT to see if it crashes more often. This may prove, as Apollo stated, if it is a RAM issue.

Try Memory Diagnostics, it’s a Windows program so it should already be on your PC
