So i ordered my pc parts last week, and almost everything is here except my cpu. I’m starting to regret my decision now that i realize it will most likely bottleneck my rx 560. I ordered an amd athlon 845 for about $60 and then an rx 560 4gb for 130. How bad will this impact performance?

It probably won't be that bad but an 845 isn't a great choice, really.

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Bottleneck questions can NOT be answered at all, if you don't post your Software + Settings ;-)

Do you play Cities skylines with huge 10 million people cities? Even a 1000€ Intel 10-Core will bottleneck.

Do you play Graphic intense games like Rise of the Tomb Raider, Witcher, Farcry, Division, etc? You will be just fine.

since you ordered it already, just see how it goes, and check your usages with MSI Afterburner~. Or just don't, and see if you can get enough fps in your desired Settings. If you do, no problem. Who cares if you have a bottleneck somewhere, and how much, as long YOU have enough fps for you? ^^

Btw: I think, that was a bad choice.. For that CPU Price, an Intel Pentium G4560 + B250 + 8gb DDR4 2400 Mhz Dual Kit would've been the best bang for the buck.

It is alot faster than the old AMD CPUs. You might have saved a few single bucks, but you're on a dead platform, while on B250, you could still upgrade later to an i7 7700 used for 100-200 bucks in a few Years, if needed.

If it's possible, and if the total Price is not noticeably higher: Return CPU/Board/Ram, and get the Intel G4560 Platform instead.

If you have an overclocking capable board overclock the processor via base clock.

Please post results though, I am interested in building my wife a budget gaming rig based on my old FM2+ system and I was thinking about getting an Athlon 860k or 845 with my spare RX460 4gb.
