Microsoft Security Essentials Issues

So I upgraded an inherited computer from vista to 7, and installed Norton(trying that, again) but Microsoft security essentials keeps enabling itself and deciding to battle with Norton, about 20 minutes after norton goes off. Now it wont let me disable it, so what should I do.(I am not looking for another antivirus, just tell me what to do with MSE)

Uninstall it. Or hit the services section and disable it that way.

BTW, for the record, Norton is garbage.

Better than Macaffee or MSE. I don't know so far it works, not the greatest, but it works. Then again there seems to be a push towards free antiviruses, that I haven't had much luck, so I stay with Mcaffee(hey free for life(20 years I believe for $15 isn't bad)), and Norton.

Windows only supports 1 A/V active at a time. So it can act strangely or fighting when you have 2 or more.

You should uninstall Microsoft Security Essentials if you want to try Norton.

And if you decide to switch back, again, you need to uninstall Norton before installing Microsoft Security Essentials back.

Thanks, last time disabling one worked. I will uninstall MSE
