hi ive recently been having a problem running 3 monitors on my pc, they are all 27' 1440p but one runs at 144hz and the other 2 run at 60hz which is causing my pc to crash when i go into fullscreen games, i have a gtx 970 lying around and was wondering if i could hook up the 2 monitors onto that gpu and have my 1080 just running the 144hz monitor?

It sounds like you need to reinstall windows or at least your GPU drivers.

A PC should not be crashing even if monitors run at different refresh rates.

Try this. I have a 1440p 60Hz monitor and a 1080p 144Hz monitor and have no issues playing anything full screen.

My Build:

CPU: Xeon E5-2680v2 @ ~4 GHz RAM: 32 GB DDR3 (blck overclocking messes with the speed) GPU: EVGA GTX 1070 SC @ ~2015 MHz STORAGE: A few 120 GB SSDs, a few 1 TB HDDs, and an 8 TB WD Red COOLER: H110i V2 CASE: Hacked up NZXT Source 220

i have tried that i also called up the company where it was built and they seem to think that might be the problem, i also reset my BIOS and restored my OC with no success

1080 should be able to handle that setup, uninstall your gpu drivers, restart, then let DisplayDriverUninstaller (DDU) wipe all nvidia files, restart pc, then install the latest drivers for that gpu and see if it works

i will give this ta try and let you know how it goes

I have a 1440p 144Hz G-sync monitor paired with a 2560x1080p 60hz monitor that both run without issue. Seems like your problem is probably software (driver) based.

Having issues with a Corsair AIO? Possible fix here:

Spoiler

Are you getting weird fan behavior, speed fluctuations, and/or other issues with Link?

Are you running AIDA64, HWinfo, CAM, or HWmonitor? (ASUS suite & other monitoring software often have the same issue.)

Corsair Link has problems with some monitoring software so you may have to change some settings to get them to work smoothly.

-For AIDA64: First make sure you have the newest update installed, then, go to Preferences>Stability and make sure the "Corsair Link sensor support" box is checked and make sure the "Asetek LC sensor support" box is UNchecked.

-For HWinfo: manually disable all monitoring of the AIO sensors/components.

-For others: Disable any monitoring of Corsair AIO sensors.

That should fix the fan issue for some Corsair AIOs (H80i GT/v2, H110i GTX/H115i, H100i GTX and others made by Asetek). The problem is bad coding in Link that fights for AIO control with other programs. You can test if this worked by setting the fan speed in Link to 100%, if it doesn't fluctuate you are set and can change the curve to whatever. If that doesn't work or you're still having other issues then you probably still have a monitoring software interfering with the AIO/Link communications, find what it is and disable it.
