New laptop

have gotten shut down so many times about getting a razer blade, the time has come I'm upgrading my PC and selling it off for 2k. Should I get a razer blade? I know a million people are going to tell me to kms for even mentioning razer, or is there some other amazing laptop that is thin has an amazing 4k display and overall has great performance.

People hate what they can't have, I personally don't own a RAZR blade but it's a wicked powerful laptop and I don't see why you shouldn't get it.

I have no experience with the Razer either but a 4K display seems overkill, especially on a mobile devile like a laptop.

Guess it's the same with apple on a windows scale. And people hate on apple all the time unless they use it.

I'd just say it is too expensive.

It will be okay but 4k display is overkill, better buy 4k monitor an then connect laptop via dongle. I don't think there is something good enough like razer blade, mybe dell xps or ekhm.... Mac eventually. But if you feel it is good for you, you will be happy. I think you won't dissapint yourself

They get hot because they aren't super thick compared to lots of other gaming laptops, but from people I know who have them they all say it's totally worth the price premium.

Not being super thick doesnt cover the fact that many people had motherboards die on them or cpu/gpu temps extremely high

Whats your budget?

What games do you play?

What features are important to you?

(Eg 4k, battery life, refresh rate, storage size, screen size, laptop size in general)

Mostly, consider it is 14''.

I've been looking around for a 13-14 inch for college but this form factor increases the price exponentially if you want some power.

You gotta make compromises at some point, either better thermals or lightweight. You can't have both. The same goes for Razer Blade 14. I wouldn't go as far to say Razer Blade 14 as a shitty laptop, but you can take a look at the Blade 14's insides with a quick googling and try to compare the way they cool the components with other laptops offering similar specs.

I love battery life being thin and 4k display and a smaller screen if possible smaller than 15" storage doesn't matter as long as its an SSD

:D

Macs aren't made for gaming. They do play some games (those made compatible by their devs) but their strenghs are elsewhere.

As said I was looking around for a 14 inch as well but only managed to find some devices with a 940MX and that does not cut it too well for gaming. A bit goes, Heroes of the Storm and even Overwatch are okay at medium to low settings. But that's that.

And they already hover around the 800+ pricepoint.

So, regarding this, the Razer is actually not that overpriced. Just be careful as the payoff of smaller size is usually heat, which limits the performance.

And batterylife is around an hour while gaming I imagine. :D

The only other laptops in that size with some gaming power I know are Schenker XMG Gaming Notebooks. They have on with a 1050Ti.

Don't know if they are sold internationally, though. :(

Yeah but you still pay at least double jsut so it's apple.

Same Hardware without the fruit is easily 50% off.

Not hating on apple, they do have their field of work (I always hear content creation is amazing on them) and they are reliable. Like Never failing expect for when they do. (Yes I said that :P ) But I rarely get to use or repair one so I can't really say. Also if it fails fter warranty you have no way of fixing it. (There's a few shops, Louis Rossmann has one in Manhatten, he often streams mac repairs on youtube. He also often rants and flat out tells that he buys 50 Cent pieces, sauders them onto the motherboard in less than 2 hours an takes 500$. And is still significantly cheaper than apple.)

Ho boy here I almost go ranting on apple :D So I stop now.

TL;DR: You can get 2 equaly powerful PCs running windows for the price of one mac. But they won't be running macOS.

Gaming laptops are a tough breed, because of temperature. And the smaller you go, the worse this becomes ^^

Which is most likely the reason you rarely find a 14 inch gaming Laptop.

And most likely the reason people are so "against" it. Then again, Linus liked his, he uses (or did use at one point) the razer so if you are not dead tight with the money I would say go for it.
