for $500 you can get a 1080 instead, it will do most things better unless you start to really get deep into tinkering with the Vega card

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Will you actually use the raw power of the Vega 56? For that price, you can get the 1080, which is better in gaming, and you can use it for CUDA acceleration.

The water cooler is pretty meh. I would get a good air cooler for that price.

The motherboard is bad. B350 Strix, or X370 Prime Pro if you can.

Get the SL308 250GB instead of the 120GB SSD. The speeds won't likely benefit you.

The PSU is pretty bad. Get a CXM, Capstone or Photon instead.

Do you really need that many fans? LTT has made a video on how it doesn't matter past 2-3 fans.

:)

I am OCing the ram

Still i think it's better to get faster RAM e.g. 3600mhz than overclock it from 3000mhz to 3600, it probs will just short and burn.
Also you sure that AMD supports the ripjaws ? I would go for Trident Z 3600.

Nix the fans. 3 max, IMO. Otherwise looks decent. You'd get better performance out of a coffee lake i5 than the Ryzen, not sure on price difference though.

The Asus B350-F Strix board is better. You will be fine with a 550W psu. Probably don't need the extra thermal paste either unless you are reusing an existing cooler. Don't forget the AM4 bracket if going with an aftermarket job.

A 3000MHz kit is fine. A 3600MHz might not run at that speed anyway unless it is b die, plus it is usually a lot more expensive for 3600MHz. Also it won't short and burn unless he does something silly like put excessive volts through it.
