RAM Issue

Hello All,

so ive been having an issue where when my pc is turned off for more than a couple hours it wont turn back on unless i take out one of my sticks of ram, once its booted with 1 stick of ram, i can put the other stick back in and it will then boot fine with both sticks of ram. my mobo is a gigabyte z87-hd3 and im using 2 kingston valueram 4gb sticks.

Run a copy of memtest86 to confirm one of the sticks is bad. Whichever one that seems to be causing a problem might be the cause of your issues. Be forewarned though, memtest86 takes a while to do it's thing.

thing is, its happened in both sets of slots. the grey and the black ones

i fixed the issue. just had to reflash the bios.

 

dont know why the backup bios didnt kick in though...
