A Printer Running Windows Server!?!?!?

Hameck

I work tech support in a medical diagnostics production lab. Our IT management software scans all devices on the network periodically to identify the make, model, OS, etc... Well, it seems to think that one of our HP printers is running Windows Server....

-_- This type of thing is why I'm still skeptical about the upcoming Robot Uprising.

Burn it. Burn it with fire.

Custom pinewood case, Corsair CX 600WRampage 3 Extreme, i7 980x (@4.2ghz) with ML240 Cooler MSI GTX 970, 24gb DDR3, 240gb OCZ Tr150 SSD + 2Tb Seagate Baracuda.

Advocate for used/older hardware. Also one of the resident petrol heads.

Or Lyoko

Or the digital world

Or a metaphorical tree.

Come Bloody Angel

Break off your chains

And look what I've found in the dirt.

Pale battered body

Seems she was struggling

Something is wrong with this world.

Fierce Bloody Angel

The blood is on your hands

Why did you come to this world?

Everybody turns to dust.

Everybody turns to dust.

The blood is on your hands.

The blood is on your hands!

Pyo.

Doubt it. It would be a total waste of money, due to the licensing cost of Windows Server. Also you need x86 CPU inside... which is even more of a waste of money.

It most likely runs a Linux distro. Either something like CentOS, Arch Linux, or some custom distro.
