Hey guys,

Alright looking if someone can help me out with a i3-8100 build. I already have a case and 450w psu, aswell as a 250gb ssd and 500gb HDD from last build. Looking to get the parts for under $550, looking for another HDD, a 1060, and at least 8gigs of ram with room to upgrade. Lastly my case is matx only. Thanks!

Don't know about Z370's mATX situation
**There is 1, and it's $130, also like 3 ITX motherboards, but Ryzen is clearly the better value here.

But you could totally fit an R5 1400 which is 4 cores 8 threads into that budget, just gotta leave out the new hard drive for now.

Can your case take longer dual fan GPUs? Because 580s are finally back down in price at retailers.

What's your current monitor?

AdoredTV mentioned H370 chipset and B350 were scheduled for next year. I don't think it makes much sense to buy a Z chipset board without an overclocking CPU. And at that point you trade in 4c/8t for something like 10% more fps on average. And who knows if intel will keep these sockets around for their next chip. where AM4 is supposed to be supported until 2020.

The cheapest 1060 6GB with dual fans is $270, so you save a bit with the 580, and in addition should you upgrade to say a 1080p 144hz display, free-sync is far cheaper than g-sync.

If you can't fit a dual fan card, then a single fan 1060 6GB should be the go to, but I'd highly consider the 580, as it's likely to hold up better in the long run.
