Old graphic card(and old games) + newer CPU = ???

I always wondering what if GeForce 8800 GTX  graphic card(and 2006-2007 games)  performing with Core i7 7700k and Windows 10. Will it performing smooth, or too fast to handling newer CPU?

The GPU will be the bottleneck and you'll be limited to the maximum performance of the 8800 GTX.

The GPU will be a significant bottleneck to the CPU, because the GPU isnt maximising its full utilization.

The old hardware will work at its full potential while the new hardware will be bottleneck, also depending on what you're trying to use you  might even run into lack of compatibility altogether and have nonfunctional system.

Don't bother, use the CPU's integrated HD 630 instead. Or get Ryzen 5 + a 1050Ti

Your better off getting an older CPU that will allow the older GPU to maximise its full utilization.
