well it would behoove the ISP to nip that traffic in the bud to protect future and existing clients (IPs) from experiencing such an attack. Do you agree?

Not if the traffic is coming from a spoofed address, which is like all the time, or like the attack I hate the most (DNS reflection) which utilizes our own network against us. Trust me, it not as easy at you think, if it was it would save us headaches as well.

Doubt they will be getting hit because as soon as I go live again they will try hitting it and I wont go off so they wont do it anymore.

you could have the same effect using a different connection (mobile data for example) for just one or two streams ... as soon as they notice that they can't kill your stream any more they will get bored

When did ISP's start giving a damn about their subs? If they did Comcast wouldn't be getting awards for its shitty customer service. Remember they were the Worst Company in America twice. Many other ISP's are just one step behind them. TWC is actually at the top of the list for shitty providers as of late due to the shitty nature of the merger.

Yeah I will say one thing I have gone through Insight then TWC then Charter now spectrum but I think the charter and spectrum is the same

I do like 9 hour streams at a time and T-Mobile is trash for hotspot I get barely any, and it is multiple people that do it, :( and I doubt they will but I told them and they said they will discontinue the IP for the time being but like I said I doubt it.

Traffic is routed to cloudflare first which has the equipment I mentioned earlier specifically designed to prevent DDOS. Once scanned this traffic is sent directly to you or routed another way if needed.

Time Warner, Charter and Bright house are all merged in to one shitty company. To my understanding though, not all the companies computer systems are merged or personnel. So it can be challenging when needing to get help from the executive level as they executives have no access to some of the systems. Spectrum is the charter residential branding. Much like Xfinity is Comcast's consumer branding.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

Keep thing is they might be building it. They have been slowing down on deployment in areas that already have it. Many people who had it on order being told that they will never get it. Dont count on Google. They pretty much now are going to focus on Wireless. Really what you do is hope they put fiber in your neighborhood, as there is no guarantee that they will.

I could already get their speeds because I live in a business area but it is like 200 more a moth so I'd rather not pay for business internet and also its from an unknown company(or atleast I dont know them). SO when it does cmoe where I live would be the first to get it :)

A residential connection is a single pipe. Even if the router doesn't allow that the traffic will still be sent to the router and thus fill up the pipe.

OP, you can get a new IP by changing your MAC address of the router connected to the modem.

Question: The new modem that they gave me has this does this mean I can change it at anytime now or is this the same as going into cmd and typing ipconfig /release

Are you sure you have a modem and not a modem/router combo?

That means the Mac address trick most likely wont work. Ive only seen it work on separate devices. While It will let you release your WAN ip address, you might get the same one, if the least isnt up.
