My pcie riser looks funny. How do I fix it?

Spending the time to repair all of those bent pins on the PCIE riser would just be too time consuming, get a replacement PCIE riser. By the looks of the damaged riser, it seems like it was ripped out of the PCIE slot with such force.

I had just built a new system and I forgot to order screws for my riser. So i let it sit in the case for about a week. I had just received the screws and I went back to my pc to shut it down. Well of course I had no video. So I opened the case and saw this! (Picture below)

moar pics but looks like you ripped the PCIe slot of the motherboard -> RIP (not exactly sure yet)

It looks like the slot was ripped out of the PCI-E riser. In which case RIP, time to order a new one

You can get a pair of tweezers and bend all of the pins to their original positions, but it aint worth it considering the state of the damage.

It looks like you ripped the riser out of the pcie slot without first disengaging the lock.

 

Unfortunately, there's not much you can do. Just let this be a lesson to never use excessive force. Most pc stuff (besides installing CPUs in sockets) shouldn't need much force. If you have another pcie slot on your mobo though you could use that one instead.
