Well Guys..

As you have probably read the title....

My computer just stopped working... I started it... Went to get my cup noodles from the kitchen... And when I came back it's just.... Dead... Nothing works... None of the lights... Nothing... I tried changing cables, all of them.... Nothing works.

Please help guys... I think it's a PSU failure.

My rig is an i3 6100 and a Gigabyte h110ms2 Mobo with a gtx 710 and... Kingston HyperX Fury 240 gig... And a old hdd... And... Oh... I plugged in a blue usb mic the other day...

Power supply is Corsair 500 watt. It's just an year old

Re-seat the ram,

re-seat the CPU

Take the mobo battery out to clear CMOS.

Start a little larger...ensure the socket the PC is plugged into has power.

Is the power strip working?

Did the power cable fall out?

Guys, let's not forget the OP already messed with the cables and this problem occurred after they got up to get food. It's highly unlikely that it's to do with a connection.

You'd be surprised....never take anything on blind faith, especially when dealing with other people.

I'm assuming you have the CX500 PSU, which isn't known for reliability but will generally be ok in new builds given the power draw isn't too high. If so, your PSU should be covered under the 3-year limited warranty. I had my corsair RM650 die on me, and corsair's warranty was very good to me about shipping me a replacement RM650i.

To be sure it's your PSU, try shorting pins 16 and 17 as described here:

http://support.antec.com/support/solutions/articles/1000015319-is-my-power-supply-dead-the-paperclip-test

If the fan spins, your power supply is probably fine.

I am conducting some polls regarding your opinion of large technology companies. I would appreciate your response.

If it's a Corsair unit it most certainly is still under warranty after a year. The tagging system on this forum is garbage and often breaks but I tagged one Corsair rep that can help you and tried to tag another but it wouldn't let me.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

This happened to me just yesterday, I had a Corsair AX850 (gold) and it just so happened that my 7 year warranty just ran out in the middle of September (my luck), I had access to a less powerful but working PSU just to see if my pc would boot, and it did.

(Sorry about the rant)

Anyway do you have any friends or family that you can borrow a working PSU from to test?
