Can't test it without a CPU but even if it doesn't work you still have a better CPU for your trouble.

he is 13, and is using a celeron i could buy it cash for like 30 bucks if he dosent want it

this christmas If i have a budget of about 350 MAX if I sell my i5 and mobo I can get 230 from a friend thats 780 - 300 for 6700k is 480 - 60 for a cooler is 420 - 120 for motherboard 300 - 50 case might do that, I dont want to go haswell anyways, power and clocks over cores and I right?

That's a bummer, let your friend know I feel for them.  I'll be posting an ad on the forum later with my mobo + 8gb of ddr4, not sure what I'll price it at but I'll give you a good deal if you are interested.
