It's because Ryzen series processors (like your Ryzen 5) don't have a built in GPU, so there wont be a way to get video out of those ports on your motherboard.

Because of the A series APUs (A8, A10, etc.) which do have a (pretty decent) built in GPU.

The AM4 socket can hold Ryzen series CPU's, Athlon series CPU's (which are based on another architecture, not Zen) and also these APUs, so people like Gigabyte have to include these ports.

What I said applies to Ryzen 3, 5 and 7, so doesn't make a difference :)

AB350 Gaming 3 and Ryzen 7?

Oh boi.

Whatever.

As the others said, Ryzen has no iGPU, you need to use the one you use normally.

You can order the adapter from something to DVI on ebay for few bucks.

Don't buy Apple M1 computers with 8GB of RAM

Well, yeah basically.

Also, most big stores make their money off their cables, which is why you can pay up to 40 USD for a DVI to HDMI cable. Take a look around (online) and just get the cheapest option for you.

DVI to HDMI is always decent, but it just kinda depends on what your display and videocard have in terms of input and outputs respectively.

Keep in mind you're gonna need an ACTIVE adapter for your GPU. A cheap passive one will not work or even fit.

Image result for dvi-i

Those four pins on the right, around the flat part are for the analog signals (which is what VGA uses), which are not present on your GPU.

This is why I mentioned DVI to HDMI, usually the cheapest.

Don't feel bad. My wife shelled out $140 for my RX 460, just to have to spend another $30 for the DVI-VGA cable for my monitor. #feelsbadman
