Posted September 23, 2017 I ask this because we currently have a 55" Toshiba 1080p 3D TV that was one of their most expensive TV when 3D was a thing (it cost around £1500-2000), and I want a new TV for another room and I think that in a living room setting you would struggle to tell the difference between the resolutions. I personally would rather have a good 1080p TV, with excellent colours, viewing angles etc. than a cheaper 4K tv that may not be as good at reproducing colour. What would you rather have? Posted September 23, 2017 4k Still ain't that common, so it's a bit of wasted money. Sure, there are the odd YouTube video and movie, but most TV shows, yt videos, and movies are still using 1080p. Keep the 1080p tv untill 4k is more widespread. Yeah, but we're still far off from it being a common resolution. It's getting there, just not yet. Posted September 23, 2017 If you're on the hunt for a cheaper 4K TV I'd highly recommend this. Really solid TV for the price, and latencies are low enough to where you could actually play games on it (it's on par with that over-hyped Nano Cell TV). https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16889007355 Main rig on profile VAULT - File Server Spoiler Intel Core i5 11400 w/ Shadow Rock LP, 2x16GB SP GAMING 3200MHz CL16, ASUS PRIME Z590-A, 2x LSI 9211-8i, Fractal Define 7, 256GB Team MP33, 3x 6TB WD Red Pro (general storage), 3x 1TB Seagate Barracuda (dumping ground), 3x 8TB WD White-Label (Plex) (all 3 arrays in their respective Windows Parity storage spaces), Corsair RM750x, Windows 11 Education Sleeper HP Pavilion A6137C Spoiler Intel Core i7 6700K @ 4.4GHz, 4x8GB G.SKILL Ares 1800MHz CL10, ASUS Z170M-E D3, 128GB Team MP33, 1TB Seagate Barracuda, 320GB Samsung Spinpoint (for video capture), MSI GTX 970 100ME, EVGA 650G1, Windows 10 Pro Mac Mini (Late 2020) Spoiler Apple M1, 8GB RAM, 256GB, macOS Sonoma Consoles: Softmodded 1.4 Xbox w/ 500GB HDD, Xbox 360 Elite 120GB Falcon, XB1X w/2TB MX500, Xbox Series X, PS1 1001, PS2 Slim 70000 w/ FreeMcBoot, PS4 Pro 7015B 1TB (retired), PS5 Digital, Nintendo Switch OLED, Nintendo Wii RVL-001 (black)
 Posted September 23, 2017 I currently don't own a tv, and I don't have much money these days, so I'd have to go cheap. Best Excuses: #1(simple) "Well, I never liked that stupid thing anyway!" #2(complex) "Obviously there was a flaw in the material, probably due to the inadvertent introduction of contaminants during the manufacturing process."
