Ryzen 3 power

sunhere

Hello guys!

Im fairly new to pc building. I just bought a Ryzen 3 1200, a gigabyte GA-320M, and aChieftec 400 w power suply. My conern is that, I dont have the correct 8 pin setup for the motherboard (cpu power). But on the mannual it shows that u need 6 or 8 pin for the CPU. Can i plug in just the 6 pin, and get the ryzen 3 working. (I bought a 1050 TI beside it, so according my calculations the 400W should be enough).

THX

CPU connectors are only 4 or 8 pin

Don't buy Apple M1 computers with 8GB of RAM

The connector is 8 pin, but for some weird reason i can plug in only 6, the "2 pin attachment" wont fit in. Also on the ryzen user manual it show, that u either plug in 6 or 8 pin into the inlet, but wont tell anymore.

Tha['s the GPU, not the CPU... please read the manual and look online before doing anything else. I'm not being harsh, just don't want you to wreck your PC.

That is what i want to. So then the question is for ryzen 3 1200 is the for pin enough. Even is the motherboard has an 8 pin connector for the cpu? @paddy-stone

Yes, it should be fine, but you can get 4 to 8 pin adaptors online very cheaply, or even sata/molex to CPU adaptors.

@paddy-stone Or does it even need additional power beside the motherboard's?

I pluged the 4 pin, the motheboard"s 22 pin in, installed the ram, the CPU and it wont post. (Used VGA output, and havent installed the graphics card). Any suggestions?

the ryzen 1300 does not have an internal/onboard graphics processor, you'll need a dedicated GPU to make this build functional.

power should be a 24-pin.

Power IS 24 pin, I messed up the numbers...... I installed my 1050 TI, pulged the HDMI into the card, still nothing.
