Thoughts on my current build.

Swfcris

I have a budget of $500 also for some if the parts it was cheaper to get them through Amazon because my wife and I both work at a Fulfillment Center so we get a discount on the website. Also I was able to save some cash by Ccarrying over my Rx 460. This build will be used for gaming and video editing. If you have any suggestions please let me know.

Newegg parts

Amd ryzen 5 1600+ ASRock ab350m board bundle ($271)

Vivo smart micro atx case ($34.99)

Open box silicon power 8gb ddr4 2400mhz ($60)

8gb flash drive to install windows 10 ($5.99)

Amazon

Toshiba 1tb hdd ($41.99)

Patriot torch 128b sdd ($51)

Thermaltake 500w psu (39.99)

The total before my %10 is $511.92 but it should be under $500 once it's added.

Looks pretty good to me, maybe might want to consider RAM with a higher speed tho.

I was thinking about it but from what reading I did there isn't much of a performance increase after 2400mhz. I could be wrong though.

My first concern would be the PSU, not knowing it's part number. May I suggest the Corsair CX550M?

You could also drop down to a Ryzen 5 1600 and maybe use any savings for a better kit of ram.

CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x  Board: Asus PRIME X570-P  Ram: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2x8) DDR4-3000  Case: Fractal Design Define S

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070  SSD: HP EX950 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME  HDD: Seagate Barracuda 3TB 3.5" 7200RPM

PSU: SeaSonic FOCUS Plus Platinum 750W  Cooler: Noctua NH-U12S SE-AM4  Monitor: Viotek GFT27DB 27.0" 2560x1440 144 Hz

check if the 1tb drive is 5400rpm or 7200rpm ( 7200rpm is quite abit quicker than 5400 )

It's 7200rpm sorry should have mentioned that.

everything seems fine in that case, however id recommend getting an kingston / samsung ssd instead c:

aswell some branded ram ( dont take weird brand rams ),   g.skill / corsair / kingston recommended

check ur motherboard QVL list ( memory )  to see which brand is supported the best

Would this be the part number? (PS-SPD-0500NPCWUS-W) it had 4 1/2 stars on Amazon and it looked well reviewed.

No

no

no no

NOT THAT PSU

For the same price, on sale, you can get a CX450M, much better.

I'm not really feeling it. I base my opinions on that Tier list I posted. If it's not in the top 3, I'd avoid it.

i dont wanna be a party pooper but i remember cheap corsair psu,s going in smoke due to failures , i wouldnt  recommend any corsair psu at all ( that is low end )

id say go for antec psu instead, or other a brand ( corsair psus are only known to be good on the high end range, the expensive ones )

corsair cx series have an history of catching fires on many models ( normally i dont even mention psus going on flames but those went insane before i remember that )

Sometimes it's just way too relying on electrical performance, so I would read reviews instead.

Top 3 for gaming PC, top 4-5 for office PC.

Nope. You cannot judge by brand. The Antec VP550 is much worse than the $40 Corsair CX450 (2017), so review EACH unit seperately.

google about the corsair cx series, they have a huge history of catching fires actually and extreme amount of failures ( also rated as poor power supplies for a long history )

corsair  cx series is the last ud wanna pick due to their poor history ^^

Corsair came out with a brand new CX and CXM series, and they are good, and better than the M12II, S12II, EVGA B3 and a lot of other units.

The ones with the green label, perhaps.  The grey label are good quality.

The CX from pre-2016 are vastly different. You're getting a totally different unit. The old CX series got a lot of hate for "blowing up" when, in reality, it would just restart itself if it got too hot (which is what it's supposed to do, mind you). It did this as a lower temperature than preferred but it's still nowhere near the pile of explosions waiting to happen that many make it out to be. The CX550 is a very good unit.
