Hey guys, A friend of mine asked me to help him pick out pc parts, what should stay in and get swapped. Keep in mind his budget is 1000 dollars

*Note* The video cards price isn't showing so thats why the price is so low

RAM is iffy it is CL11 and pretty expensive.

Would also probably get a Seagate Barracuda instead of the green drive.

i would advise going with something abit more high end than the 212 evo, i would however change the h80i for a solid air cooler, but that's a matter of personal opinion i guess.

and maybe swap out the ram? cl11? this isn't ecc ram :P.

Swap the ram for a nice Mushkin Blackline 1.35v kit and like another poster suggested, the 212+ Evo is more than sufficient for cooling that CPU. TBH, these locked down AIO coolers need to die off as the only one(s) worth springing the money on would be the expandable Swiftech/Cooler Master unit(s).

Do not underestimate the power of the 212 evo! :P but yeah something like a noctua nh-u14s would be much better.

You could maybe get a 280x that isn't the TOXIC, I think that one is $350, and take the $50 somewhere else, maybe better cooling or a different case.

-Corsair 750D - MSI Mpower Z77 - 3570k @ 4.21 -Corsair H60- 8GB Corsair Vengeance 2133 Mhz- Corsair RM850 - MSI 780 Lightning -256GB SSD- 2 1TB HDDs - LG 23' Flatron - Razer Death Adder - Ducky Shine 3 Cherry MX Blue - Logitech z506 5.1-

Project - Bloody Lightning

It's not just about booting and loading. It's about relieving the system's biggest bottleneck and making things more snappy and responsive.

What's the system being used for?

Over the years building for a few friends here is one Idea I'll pass on ALWAYS let them chose the case. show them your case and how heavy it is and how heavy there's is going to be empty and what not. Its the only thing people who don't build PC are going to care about.

Make him get and SSD. then tell him just put your PC to sleep instead of turning it off. boots in like 10 sec.

this is good but if you can drop the NH-D14 (replace with Hyper 212 evo) and the Optical drive you might be able to squeeze in a Kingston V300 120GB SSD  this will make the PC fly
