i5 7600K is garbage and 8600K could be too.

Don't buy Apple M1 computers with 8GB of RAM

Depends if you want to keep your motherboard the i7 7700k is as far as you can go, and whereas it would be worth it as the i5 7600k's garbage facing the i7 you might want to save for the cheapest z370 chipset board you can find and slap the i7 8700k on it when it releases next month.

Why would the 8600k be garbage? In gaming it'll be better than the Ryzen 5 chips and multithreaded it will be as good as a 7700k. What's bad about that?

It depends on your use applications. I'd probably upgrade to a i7-8700K with a Z370 motherboard.

It will cost $270-$300 and require quite expensive mobo and good cooling.

Multithread should be similiar, 7700K has 8 threads, 8600K 6 threads

I would just plop in a 6700k/7700k and call it a day.

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious
