No bios showing up (computer loads though)

barryallen1

Hi,

I've just built a new PC and the fans are all spinning at max extremely loud.

The computer boots fine but I can't access the BIOS to shut them the hell up. The bios logo screen doesn''t even show up.

I'm using this mobo (https://www.overclockers.co.uk/gigabyte-aorus-ga-ax370-gaming-5-amd-x370-socket-am4-ddr4-atx-motherboard-mb-554-gi.html)

Halp :(

Are you saying that it boots into Windows, but skips past the boot logos?

Perhaps install Gigabyte's motherboard utility and see if it has fan control options.

In terms of booting into the BIOS, try holding shift and restarting, pick advanced options, then UEFI Firmware settings.

They change the wording all the time for no reason so that's is a rough guess on what it should say.

  1. Click the Start Start menu and select Settings.
  2. Select Update and Security.
  3. Click Recovery.
  4. Under Advanced startup, click Restart now. The system will restart and show the Windows 10 boot menu.
  5. Select Troubleshoot.
  6. Choose Advanced options.
  7. Select UEFI Firmware Settings.
  8. Click Restart to restart the system and enter UEFI (BIOS)

Why? Just hold down shift and press Restart on the start menu ;)

Ok, tried restarting with UEFI firmware settings and it just froze with the screen going on and off. Had to power down the computer to get it unstuck from that -- so we can tick that off the list.

I also reset the cmos by taking the battery out and again no boot screen.

Meh, any other ideas?

Ok update, flashed the bios and I can access the menu now -- I've discovered that the other fans aren't actually loud at all. The source of the noise is coming from the AIO cooler, the fans are going ham constantly.

Is there anyway to slow them down?
