Upgrading my rig, Coffee Lake or Ryzen for Premiere Pro?

It's that time of the year when you realise your computer ran Premiere like shit and needed upgrading.... again

 

I heard that Coffee Lake should be around sometime soon, should I wait for a few more months upgrade entirely to that new platform or just get an i7 7700K now and be done with it? (I'm using a Z170 board), or Ryzen?

Also, I'm rocking an R9 390X and I think I'll upgrade myself to a 4K screen, should I upgrade my GPU too? I'll probably game a little bit but mostly I'll be doing Premiere from now

I would get R7 1700 and decent mobo, you will get great multicore performance and probably cheaper than with espresso lake

Edit: If you have Z170, try to get an i7 for cheap, their price will fall because covfefe lake

Well if you can find an used i7 7700k well priced I think it'd be very worth it, the performance gain from an i3 6100 will be huge and you'll be able to save most of your hardware.

 

Also if you want a new graphics card go nVidia instead for sweet CUDA Acceleration, a GTX 980ti, 1070 or 1080 would be a good upgrade from your r9 390

 

Another good point for going i7 7700k is that you'd need to change your RAM for Ryzen as well as the performance is far too crippled with 2133mhz while with Intel it doesn't matter.

Definitely consider a 6/8 core Intel CPU with a Nvidia GPU for Premiere, it will love the hyper threading and cuda core acceleration.
