250 $ ips?

Friend needs a monitor and has about ~250 to spend, I recommended an IPS but I want some ideas if at all possible, I don't know much about IPS panels so I was hoping "ya'll" could help

Korean 1440p monitor.

 

I've heard so many rants about them, but also very good things about them, I've wondered about buying 2 for myself and selling my vg248qe's but idk.

 

So people swear by them and some swear AT them. Idk what to believe :S

It depends which one you buy. And it's also like a bin of the monitors.

I would say grab a dell P2314H/P2414H it's like an improved version of the dell U2312HM

He has two 780s in sli, i still think he should buy a 1440p monitor. I'm ordering from these guys if you're interested, a lot of good press about them on overclock.net

Or maybe you can accept that these panels are actually decent? Why are they so popular if their build quality sucks that much? I'm pretty sure no one would buy them if they die in a year or so....

the panel is decent, but dead pixels happen very often on these panels.

Also yes the build quality is atrocious compared to a PB/PA/Ultrasharp that compete with it

Whoops, my bad. 

@Assassin That place lets you return it to them for free if you have multiple dead pixels. Hell you can send it back for 15 bucks (shipping) for a replacement if you don't like the one you have. So like yea....
