CPU + MoBo + GPU Comparison

Alright, lets keep it short and sweet; I've found 2 configurations which will suit my build and I have a strict budget. Here are the combos:

COMBO 1
CPU: Intel Pentium G4560 (319 MYR/ 76 USD)

MoBo: ASRock B250M-HDV (329 MYR/ 78 USD)

GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1050 2GB GDDR5 (578 MYR/ 138 USD)

TOTAL: 1226 MYR/ 292 USD

COMBO 2

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 1200 (479 MYR/ 114 USD)

MoBo: ASRock AB350M-HDV (335 MYR/ 80 USD)

GPU: ZOTAC GT 1030 2GB GDDR5 (357 MYR/ 85 USD)

TOTAL: 1171 MYR/ 279 USD

As you can see in the above combos, its either I sacrifice a couple of frames for "longevity" and "better upgrade path" in Combo 2 or I get decent framerates as of now with Combo 1. Which Combo should I get? Thanks! :)

My Daily Driver:

combo 1, arent there any used parts that you can get for cheap, like a gtx 580 for 50€ or so?

Combo 2.

Combo 1 is on a dead chipset, so upgrades to the CPU will be limited if you keep the mobo. This wont happen with Combo 2

Actually, There are cheaper AM4 CPUs under the Athlon name and all are overclockable. Therefore get the cheapest one (should be the x4 940). These cost a bit less than the G4560, though also slower in games despite having 4 cores. This should allow a GTX 1050 (or RX 560).

CPU: i7-2600K 4751MHz 1.44V (software) --> 1.47V at the back of the socket Motherboard: Asrock Z77 Extreme4 (BCLK: 103.3MHz) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 RAM: Adata XPG 2x8GB DDR3 (XMP: 2133MHz 10-11-11-30 CR2, custom: 2203MHz 10-11-10-26 CR1 tRFC:230 tREFI:14000) GPU: Asus GTX 1070 Dual (Super Jetstream vbios, +70(2025-2088MHz)/+400(8.8Gbps)) SSD: Samsung 840 Pro 256GB (main boot drive), Transcend SSD370 128GB PSU: Seasonic X-660 80+ Gold Case: Antec P110 Silent, 5 intakes 1 exhaust Monitor: AOC G2460PF 1080p 144Hz (150Hz max w/ DP, 121Hz max w/ HDMI) TN panel Keyboard: Logitech G610 Orion (Cherry MX Blue) with SteelSeries Apex M260 keycaps Mouse: BenQ Zowie FK1

Model: HP Omen 17 17-an110ca CPU: i7-8750H (0.125V core & cache, 50mV SA undervolt) GPU: GTX 1060 6GB Mobile (+80/+450, 1650MHz~1750MHz 0.78V~0.85V) RAM: 8+8GB DDR4-2400 18-17-17-39 2T Storage: HP EX920 1TB PCIe x4 M.2 SSD + Crucial MX500 1TB 2.5" SATA SSD, 128GB Toshiba PCIe x2 M.2 SSD (KBG30ZMV128G) gone cooking externally, 1TB Seagate 7200RPM 2.5" HDD (ST1000LM049-2GH172) left outside Monitor: 1080p 126Hz IPS G-sync

Dude, are you kidding me? Yes, I agree on the better upgrade path for the AM4 platform but getting a CPU from freaking 8 years ago totally defeats the purpose. What's the point of dumping my money on a relic from 2009?

AM4 Athlons are a tiny bit worse than the G4560 but offers an upgrade path

Of course it is slower than the Ryzen 3 1200 since it costs half as much. The reason why I suggest this is the GT 1030. This card performs similarly to the old 750Ti, which barely holds 1080p at 60fps in new non-demanding games.

If you are willing to buy used graphics card then forget the Athlons. Cards like the gtx 760, 950, R9 260x/265, 270 can all beat the 1030 while costing about the same.

combo 2 is nice if u are willing to top up your budget and get a decent GPU. dont buy the 1030. for longevity i do agree that am4 platform is still new and may lead to future support for newer processors. as for intel 8th gen will need a new mobo. if u buy the pentium now, u can just upgrade to 7th gen core processors only. 200 chipsets are not supported for coffee lake. just my opinion. at last, its up to you buddy. jadilah pembeli yang bijak.
