Speakers vs Headphones

In a pickle here!

 

I am having a hard choice choosing between Logitech Z5500 and Audio-Technica ATH-1000PRM.

Now when it comes to headphones I want, quality, diversity, clarity and brightness, which the 1000PRM happens to be!

 

But I am looking to upgrade my current speakers which are the Z2300.

When it comes to speakers I want the "oomph". Also I am getting great prices on these, so I am not exactly looking for alternatives.

 

P.S

I happen to have a Denon AH-D7000, but that is for a totally different music group and mood.

Why not both? I would skip logitech speakers if you like sound quality. Can't speak for those headphone, but audio technica is a good brand.

do you like bassy things?

this is quite powerful and have good reviews and not too expensive you could look into this <<<not in bass standard in overall

If you want privacy then go for the headphones. I always wanted to go for the speakers if there is no one living with me(for convenience purpose.)

Personally, I really like headphones. Because I can close out any background noise! :)

I already have a good 2.1 speaker system, if I were to upgrade it would probably be 5.1, since 7.1 is too much xD

The PRM are quite bass-less, in comparison to my Denons, but like I said, they cater to a different music group/style/genre.

 

Privacy is no problem, I can turn my speakers to max without anyone complaining. :P

 

Still seems that more of you are leaning towards the headphones.

headphones sound better than speakers any day of the week. esp. any speakers the regular people like us can afford + have a treated room to use them in..

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.
