I hereby challenge LTT to do a build only using the fans of the same kind of that one i found today in my basement. funny story this fan i found is "made in w-germany", before 1990, and i wondered if they were still produced. And they still get produced! :Dhttp://www.ebmpapst.com/de/products/compact-fans/axial-compact-fans/axial_compact_fans_detail.php?pID=53850

you probably have to set the site to english.

the crazy thing about these fans is: the are 120 mm fans and/but they have to be powered directly from the wall with 230V ( the common power from the wall here in germany) im kinda backfiring on myself because i complained about not enough serious tech vids on the main channel only two days back but oi hope to see a video using these fans :D The case will probably just bump around from the vibration of these fans, but hey, they are wall powered fans.  Please, just make it happen.

What's the RPM like on it? I know they did a video on an 11K RPM fan but I'd imagine this were similar if not faster.

skip to page nine im not sure which one excatly i have herte but should be the 4650N

they arent faster by any means, but they have a minimal runtime 37500 hours at 40°C and they push 160m³ of air in an hour xD

Eeeh...? How would connecting fans directly to wall do anything to power bill? I would argue (and google verifies) that those use more power than normal 12V PC fan. Even if it would be super-charged like Noctua iPPC.

Product sheet for these say 9-12W where iPPC uses only 3.8W.

youre right, but seeing fans directly powered from the wall suggests they would drain a lot of power and 12W is much in comparison to the 3.8W of the Noctuas. they might not drain enough power to make a noticeable difference on a power bill, but still wall powerded fans are funny and uncommon. i mean this post was made in hope llt would use these to cool a case, so...still hoping here

not as uncommon as you may think.

they are very common in all sorts of industrial machinery, whole-building air conditioning systems, equippment for stage lighting and such
