Cpu 100% usage gaming

Usually i reach 100% cpu usage in games like APB:Reloaded, Overwatch, Bf1, PUBG, ArmA 3, i'm not sure what my problem is. I run obs, discord and google chrome along with razer cortex and google chrome so i dont see how im hitting 100% cpu usage. It'd be helpful getting some tips on what i could try.

 

i5 4690k

EVGA superclocked 1070

8 gb of Corsair Vengeance ram

MSI Krait Edition

Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

Corsair 500 watt PSU

1tb hdd

256 ssd

Your 4690K is bottlenecking the GTX 1070, the games that you mentioned are CPU intensive. Getting a 4790K will resolve this issue.

OBS alone can put that CPU to 100% depending on your settings

I'm doing 3500kbs bitrate 1920x1080 scaled to 720p 60fps

encoder preset? fast? veryfast? superfast?

I want to upgrade to either the 7700k or 7800x.. is it worth the extra 2 cores for streaming or is the 7700k completely fine gaming/streaming?

For streaming, I'd look twoards ryzen

Yes, it is worth it, but wait for the i7 8700K, it will be faster and cheaper than the 7800X

The Coffeelake i7 (8700K) will be a 6 core 12 thread processor

I just googled it, thats awesome and it says it'll be 1151 socket. that would be honestly surprising.

The 8700k will not be compatible with Z170/Z270 motherboards though, you will need the Z300 series motherboards

Oh thats okay. I wonder why they went back with the sockets.. maybe it'll be more affordable 6 core mobos?

I would HIGHLY reccomend a ryzen if your focus is streaming. the R5 1600 is a great CPU and has enough grunt to handle it, Otherwise for the Best results you can just get a second PC (doesn't need a GPU or storage) and go that way if you serious about streaming.
