Official AMD Ryzen / Threadripper Windows 7 chipset drivers available: So, newer AMD CPUs are officially supported with Windows 7?

That's interesting. I wonder when exactly the drivers became available, and why there was no announcement that I've ever seen.

AMD did officially state that there would be no chipset drivers for Windows 7 made available.

That's interesting, because I was on an AMD webinar about the launch of Ryzen (not TR), and specifically asked if Windows 7 drivers would be available.  I was told that they would.

Does this mean you still have the janky Windows 7 setup for Ryzen chips since Microsoft won't "official" support the new chips?

I'm not able to clarify, so I'll add to the confusion :P

AMD may just have decided to release drivers for Windows 7, but I've seen AM4 motherboard manufacturers release Win 7 drivers from day 1. In principle, those drivers would be for onboard stuff, not inside-the-CPU stuff, but since I don't know what the exact content of those and these drivers is, I can't comment on that.

Windows 7 is only 7 years old. And vastly superior to windows 10, which unlike the Xbone was successful in fucking over the consumer.

They said the same thing about XP when 7 came out.
