installing windows 10 on a ssd

EXTRA THICC

i brought a ssd for my computer and i was wondering do i have to buy windows again? i still have the windows 10 disk what can i do?

If you already have the OS installed on a hard drive you can copy (migrate) that one to your ssd using a SSD tool that usually is made by the manifacturer.

 

Or, if you have a microsoft account logged in your activated copy, just install the SSD in the computer, then the OS and when you are asked fo a key in the setup select "I don't have a key". When the setup is concluded and windows update starts, it should automatically activate itself again if you log in the same account
