Minecraft Shaders 15FPS (not expected)

I just built a new computer a week ago, and I just started trying to run demanding games on it. I get 15-20FPS in Minecraft @ 10 chunks with the SEUS Ultra latest version. The tests online for this and the card combination do not match up, though, even with giving the game 12GB ram to work with.

I'm trying to figure out what I may have done wrong.

 

Ryzen 1600 OC to 3.7GHz

Zotac GTX 1060 6GB mini

16GB Corsair Vengance LPX 3000mhz ram (OC to 3333)

 

In task manager, the RAM usage gets on the high side but still has a few GBs left, and the CPU barely works a sweat. 

 

EDIT: it does this at 1080p, and on 720p it barely tops 50fps

What is your gpu usage? get msi afterburner installed and watch that when you are playing. Chances are you are maxing out your gpus capabilities with the mods

Disable performance boosting features in Optifine, like lazy chunk loading, something like that.

Resolution? SEUS will bring most GPUs to their knees.

yeah ive never seen shaders run smooth in MC, im talking even on dual Xeon 1080TI rigs!!!!!

msi afterburner won't run on my pc, i try installing it and opening it and then it gives me a black screen

I am assuming you have the correct drivers etc. Then check GPU usage, if it's high try lowering the chucks (1 at a time) and see if that helps, also turn clouds off (they are more a pain in the arse than anything and are not needed) and go through settings like that and toggle them and turn down several other settings as well that you don't want/need

HWmonitor also works use it

I recommend Open Hardware Monitor. Its literally the same thing but free without trials or any of that crap

a bit of the logs, i do see gpu is high tho. how could i fix that and get the fps i see others of the same cards getting?

Best you can do is lower settings. Take things down a notch like anti aliasing and shader amount. Make sure Vsync is off, Post processing can also go down a touch, lower draw distance can also help, Any filtering as well.

well thats just not true. my 1070 runs it at well over 80 fps.

Weird. I can run MC with shaders steady 50-60 FPS. I've used SEUS and Sildurs Vibrant Extreme.

wonder what I am doing wrong then, I have turned chunks down quite low but still not great performance

SEUS by default now has global illumination enabled, which is pretty intensive. Try disabling it in the advanced shader options. Also, make sure your render scale and shadow resolution are both at 1x.
