Core 2 Quad PC

I received a PC from a friend who said their system wouldn't POST.
After opening the side panel to the PC, I noticed the CPU fan header was plugged into the USB 2 header somehow.

Can I bring the Core 2 Quad back to life by throwing it in a Microwave or a Toaster Oven like Linus did with his GPU and SSD?

Yes, it looks like T-Junction didn't work quite right because I reapplied paste and plugged a CPU Fan back in the right CPU header...

yeah the reason it worked with a gpu is because it liquidized the solder that was creating  broken connection and then the solder reconnected in liquid form and cooled creating a good connection. I don't believe the same would be true about a cpu.

If you're going to microwave a CPU, make sure you do it in a microwave belonging to someone whose friendship you don't care about.

Otherwise, just grab a Q6600. They're $10-12 on eBay.

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.

Do NOT put anything PC related in the MICROWAVE. Unless you want to burn down your home.

Linus used an OVEN. These are NOT the same type of device.

But only do this with an Oven(Toaster ovens should be fine too) that will not be used to cook food ever again, since it may release toxic fumes.

If the part itself is dead, chances are, it won't revive by this method. Just get a cheap used CPU on ebay if you really want to reuse it.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3700x / GPU: Asus Radeon RX 6750XT OC 12GB / RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB DDR4-3200
MOBO: MSI B450m Gaming Plus / NVME: Corsair MP510 240GB / Case: TT Core v21 / PSU: Seasonic 750W / OS: Win 10 Pro

Skip the Q6600 and go Q9400. It's only $5-10 more.

I'll just get a LGA 775 Pentium, overclock it, and call it a Core 2 Quad
