Hi all,

So I bought all my parts from Amazon and built my first PC, but when I turn the PSU on, the decorative LED on the motherboard turns on, but pressing the case start or rest button do nothing (ie, the computer won't start, no fan spinning case LED doesn't turn on etc).

I had recheck all the cables, attempt to jump start the board with a stainless steel screwdriver, and completely disassemble to just the motherboard, CPU, 1 4gb ram and PSU to retest, but nothing work.

I also tested the PSU with a paperclip, i have nothing to connect to the PSU (doesn't have 4/3pin for fan and I have an SSD not harddisk), but I could hear the "humming" sound of transformer working.

So is there anything else I can do?

By now I assume the motherboard is damage somehow on transport, but now likely is that? Or should I just go back to Amazon saying psu or motherboard is defective and ask for exchange on both?

Below is my rig. Any help is appreciate, thanks in advance!

PSU: Cosair VS450

Motherboard: ASUS Prime B250-Plus

CPU: i5-7500

Ram: Vengeance 2*4Gn 2666mh (I'm aware the board only support up to 2400, but it was cheaper)

Display: ZOTAC 1060 mini

Case: Thermaltake Versa H24

Does the fan spin when you do the paperclip test?

That psu is a tier 6 PSU, very poor quality
