Does a mirrored PCI-e x16 riser cable exist? By "mirrored", i mean as if the cable was twisted 180 degrees - with the clipin being on the opposite side.

Another person asking this question back in '09.

Do you have a photo of diagram of what you mean exactly by mirrored. There are extensions like this which are both on the same side and in turn once connected to the board have it so it faces towards the motherboard.

I'm going to use my golden MS paint skills here... except I'm going to show both ends of the cable as male because its easier to see.

Alright I see what your looking for then, the only issue is something like that doesn't exist from my knowledge, since to wire that physically would mean you would be crossing wires to get it to flip like that and in a PCI-E extension application you don't really want to flip the connector.

You can get a super long extension and carefully fold it over so it crosses like that but is there a reason you need it that way?

take a regular pci-e riser and just separate the ribbon cable into sections and twist it , easy peasy. obviously start with the longest one you can find

Yeah, I may do that, but I really don't want to do it more than a couple times. In addition, I want it to look good, and there is also quite a small space that I can use this cable in. My other option is to run the cable like shown in this world class mspaint drawing.

Yeah, I've looked into that too. It may work, but in order for it to work *perfectly* the cable would need to be 178 mm or about 7 inches.

*perfectly* as by using neat 90 degree folds.

I have a similar USB riser like this and can confirm that it works. You would have to find a way to mount the board to something, but it should work for what you need.

If you need there are super long length PCI-E extension cables such that will let you easily fold it over.

If you are worried about looks, fold it and then possibly sheath it with some fabric.  Spandex type stuff comes to mind.  And perhaps use a thin cardboard inside as well to maintain the shape.  Not sure if I made sense here, or if this was a concern with the folding method.
