lavasoft leftovers / no connection

hello
for some strange reason lavasoft webcompanion was preinstalled with a downloaded win 10 version from piratebay ,i unistalled the app immidiately because i didnt knew what this is

after few weeks (today) i decided to delete the leftovers some sort of (lavasofttcp.dll , lavasofttcp.ini etc) files after removing it some apps like skype and steam couildnt connect to the internet although i had a working internet connection and browsing the internet via chrome was good

 

everytime i launch steam i get this message

Why would you download Windows 10 from TPB?

Sounds like you deleted something important that was baked into the copy you downloaded.

i restored the files and now they working

 

but im thinking that this could be a virus or something?

Yes, there is no reason to download Windows 10 from anywhere other than Microsoft.

It's free to download and make an installer and you can get a key for like $20.

I would suggest you make a bootable media from here and reinstall from scratch:

already did that

i just need to wait until exams are over so i dont lose everything during the process and then ill install it

Essentially this lavasoft crap is being injected into the steam process, and it has been identified that it is injected 

 

Steam have a list of conflicting programs with their downloader, and DLL injectors usually mean you can't connect to vac servers when needed

Just reinstall Windows with an official image from Microsoft and use that, even if it isn't activated.
