What games do you want to play? Everything I heard says VR needs another year or so to mature. Robo Recall still looks awesome on the Rift though.

I'd see if you can meet up with a friend or someone with one to try it out. If you have to scrape together the money for one, then I'd say to wait until they get better.

get the vive, it's much better.

Yeah but you can buy a GPU and a Rift for the price of the Vive......

you have to pay extra to get the same experience

Well considering that the Rift is significantly cheaper.......I dont see how this is a valid statement or an argument for the Vive.

Well considering that the Rift is significantly cheaper

  • bigger field of view than the Rift (how noticeable this is depends on the user)
  • easier room-scale setup, as you don't have to route the cable from your PC to the rear sensor, and don't have to worry about USB port issues
  • a longer headset cable (6 metres vs 4 metres)
  • a front-facing camera (which some find useful to find drinks and stuff)
  • basic support for Linux

and better support overall, rift needs to drop prices to stay competive while Vive is doing well without price cuts.

I just got my rift yesterday.

I really like it.

Sometimes some tracking issues but when that happens the screen goes blank so you don't become sick.

I have no problem using the rift but my dad gets really dizzy and can't keep the headset on for longer than a minute.

Almost all games for the vive are also on the rift so no shortage in games.

There is a lot of scarry games and I don't like those.

Had some problems with getting steam to work with the rift and would like someone to make a detailed guide with screenshots for setting up the rift with steam since all info is made for the vive.

I noticed myself switching between Oculus home and steam a lot since you get a bunch of free games with the summer bundle of the rift. But for some reason Oculus home won't accept my credit card and steam does so I buy games on Steam.

I find myself in trouble with getting the focus of the lenses right and wearing glasses in the rift is not easy in the first place.

Hope this helps someone.
