Trying to deside on parts for new build.

I set up a list on pcpartpicker. I'm trying to keep my price under $1200 and I do have some parts already to help keep the price down a little bit.

Wondering if I should get a 1060 6GB with a Samsung 960 Evo 256GB M.2 or a 1070.(might get the SSD when I have the funds for it.) I picked the motherboard because I heard it was very good for overclocking the CPU if I need to do that for my use.  I mostly play Final Fantasy XIV and stream to Twitch as well. I'm also planing on getting an Samsung CHG70 as well.

Real Build:

Monitor:

http://www.samsung.com/us/computing/monitors/gaming/27--chg70-gaming-monitor-with-quantum-dot-lc27hg70qqnxza/

For fun Threadripper build:

No idea if it will work or not lol.

Hmm interesting. Found a 980 Ti for less than $400. Might be the best route. Thanks.

The only thing that may not pan out is your 1070. Those graphics cards go in and out of stock constantly. It fluctuates every day because of those miners... I had to keep my eye on a 1080 for almost a week to make sure that I was getting the best bank for my buck.

I would wait until the graphics cards go back down in price.

I was looking into Vega 56 but I have no idea if I will be able to get my hands on one when I get back to the states in 2 months.

Maybe, maybe not, you will have to see.

The latest rumours seem to be saying it's going to beat the 1070

I would make sure that your power supply has enough power for the Vega. I think somebody mentioned that their pretty power hungry.

I would have to get a new copy because my old PC that I'm selling will have that copy of windows on it. I don't really want to get a hacked version of it.

Edit: it was the free upgrade version of it so it is OEM.

1. Unactivated windows has little to no difference from activated windows, and it doesn't affect performance.

2. There are certain applications which don't give you 'hacked windows' all it does is activate the unactivated windows that you got for free.

I'm pretty sure a 750W PSU can handel it.

Ok will have to look into that. I don't want to screw over the buyer though.

Freesync monitor so definitely get Vega 56. No need for such an expensive motherboard. Do not pay $100 for OS. You can use Win10 for free, or get a key for <$30. Better PSU. Nice 500GB SSD and still cheaper than what you were initially looking at.

I picked that motherboard because of overclocking potential. Don't know how well this one is compaired to it.

Ok found this.

I know wccftech can be a little misleading but this looks like a legit review of what I'm building.

You may want to absolutely not use the Integra R2 PSU. Tier 6. For such a nice build, it would be way better to get a nicer one.

Is it known to have issues? I was trying to decide to get this or the EVGA G3 750W but that PSU is $40 more.

It will probably work, but it's the absolute minimum for what's considered as acceptable quality. Also, it has 2 12V rails with 30 amps each. One is for the CPU + 2x PCIe power cables, and the other one is for just 2x PCIe cables. So in case you decide to use it, beware of that.

There should be lots of good PSUs. In the list, any of the tier 1 or 2 PSUs are really good. The G2 might be available for less than the G3

:)
