Help choosing a M.2 NVME

Looking for a NVMe M.2 SSD in the 250-512GB range around $100 - $200. I'm looking for something that runs cool. The area around my M.2 slot doesn't get a lot of air flow. With Sequential write <= 1000MB\s 

 

Tell me what you would buy with those constraints. This will be my first M.2 SSD and I know very little about the market.

I'd just ask this prior to suggestions: Do you really need an NVMe drive?

Samsung Pro.

 

However unless you have a need for high transfer rates, you don't need an NVMe drive.

 

App loading performance basically flat lines at SATA 6Gbps.

In not so much that i need NVMe for speed. Im out of Sata ports and have a free m.2. And if im going to get one, it going to be faster than my SATA drives. and one big enough to last in to my next system.

Having issues with a Corsair AIO? Possible fix here:

Are you getting weird fan behavior, speed fluctuations, and/or other issues with Link?

Are you running AIDA64, HWinfo, CAM, or HWmonitor? (ASUS suite & other monitoring software often have the same issue.)

Corsair Link has problems with some monitoring software so you may have to change some settings to get them to work smoothly.

-For AIDA64: First make sure you have the newest update installed, then, go to Preferences>Stability and make sure the "Corsair Link sensor support" box is checked and make sure the "Asetek LC sensor support" box is UNchecked.

-For HWinfo: manually disable all monitoring of the AIO sensors/components.

-For others: Disable any monitoring of Corsair AIO sensors.

That should fix the fan issue for some Corsair AIOs (H80i GT/v2, H110i GTX/H115i, H100i GTX and others made by Asetek). The problem is bad coding in Link that fights for AIO control with other programs. You can test if this worked by setting the fan speed in Link to 100%, if it doesn't fluctuate you are set and can change the curve to whatever. If that doesn't work or you're still having other issues then you probably still have a monitoring software interfering with the AIO/Link communications, find what it is and disable it.

Screw the budget, I think i'll go for the 960 Evo 500GB. Hopefully it will be more than i need as long as it lives.
