Still, don't put too much faith in my buying decisions. xD

Are you wondering what monitor to buy or what monitor to use that you already have.

I would recomend using the 1080p display and just see how high you can OC it, Maybe you can get 70 or 75hz if you are lucky. I had an old 1080p Dell monitor from 2007 that was 60Hz and I was able to get it up to 85Hz

i've got one from that old. It's easy to overclock it. that said, I also see no real difference between 60 and 75 hertz. Resolution is better than a 15 hertz difference.

Can you send me the link to a program to overclock or is it in the monitor menu?

i find that most monitors I try max at 75 for some reason. Maybe you could explain this?

If you have Nvidia, it should be easy. Google it.

you just create a custom resolution with higher frequency in nvidia control panel basically. That and a special patch

Also, why? Can you even get decent frames on CSGO with integrated? I could only get 70 fps max on my 6600k.

Give us some more information about your computer.

But with my experience, you should be able to competitively play with a 60hz monitor.. I have reached DMG/EAGLE in csgo on a 60hz 1080p monitor before purchasing my ASUS MB24Q 144hz 1ms monitor.

Just read what was posted above me and seeing your on integrated graphics and already playing at a lower resolution there is no way you could play csgo even on low settings @ 1080p all that well.

I would for sure run with the 1400x900 monitor and call it a day until you upgrade your pc,  you really do not need much to run csgo @ high frame rates I was running an old i5 4core cpu 3.1ghz, gtx 560 ti 1gb gpu, 128gb ssd 16gb ram and I was getting 250+ frames on 1080p low/med settings.  I bet if you bought yourself a really cheap gpu used from craigslist for under 100$ it would make a big difference in your game coming from nothing.

Now I just finished building my ryzen 1600 based system but still using that 560ti gpu and I get over 400 fps 1080p low settings. so it shows you how important a gpu is in cs go....
