How are drivers?

 

I'm not after salty fan boy replies, i want legit serviceable answers please.

I have heard and seen that they are great but user experience would be nice.

 

Crimson drivers with R9 200 series?

Perfectly fine. AMD hasn't really had bad drivers for years. They certainly get better with time and new cards generally perform much better a couple months later but Nvidia has had some crap drivers recently.

Just keeping this here as a I had an R9 290X since September 2015 to October 2016, drivers were great - stable and got most new features along with updates.

AMD Drivers are 100% fine. The "AMD drivers suck" talking point was just that, a talking point.

Sounds good, buying a 290X on friday since the 780 6GB arrived DOA, plus a 290X is WAY ahead of a 780 o.0

An R9 290X should beat any 780 in most situations today. In fact, it should perform similarly to a 780 Ti, and even beat it in a lot of titles (mostly DX12/Vulkan-loving games, like DOOM or TW:WH)

 

The drivers are great.. I have been experiencing random crashes and frame drops in Overwatch with 17.7.2, but I don't know if that's on AMD's end or Blizzard's end (there was also a recent patch for Overwatch).

UserBenchmark can give you a general understanding of a graphics card's performance, but you probably shouldn't take it word-for-word. I really don't think the 290X is that much better. The 1050 Ti beating the 780 isn't that surprising to me.
