So, is there a way, that i could make a computer rig be set up hosting games (so like, i could get my little 2 core laptop to play games from the server)

Ive heard some people doing this, where they have a dedicated server, and they have both their computers (which normally wouldnt be able to play the games on their own, but they stream the game?

if this is possible, would there be much imput lag or what not to/from the server to laptop and vis versa?

I think you can do it with steamOS using in-home streaming but I wouldn't suggest it.  If you paid a company and rented high capitcity data lines from your house to your work and connected both over fibre then you might be able to do it.

More trouble than it's worth in my opinion.

Steam in home streaming is one way of doing this. The only thing is, it actually runs the game on the host. Meaning if you are streaming a game from your gaming rig, it will lock you gaming rig while you play the game. I think the game will be view able from the monitor of your gaming rig as it leverages its power to run the game. The issue is, running this on WiFi wont work well, at least the gaming rig would need to be wired if not both machines. Also to my understanding Steam in home streaming can only be used locally, so you cant stream to a machine outside your home network.

Another way is Nvidia's streaming. I think its call shadow play, not sure though, as you need an Nvidia graphics card to use it. Sadly Im currently running an AMD card.

I have not tried any of these options as I dont like gaming on laptops. Plus my laptop is technically a gaming laptop but a little on the old side.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
