Would a PS4 bought from USA/CA work in the UK?

Title says it all really, As always in the UK we get ripped off majorly on tech goods as the PS4 is £349.99 or $572, While over in lucky USA the PS4 is $399 or £244, If I bought my PS4 from say NCIX and payed the shipping, Even then it would steal come cheaper than buying it over here, But the thing is will that PS4 work in the UK? Because i've heard in the past of people buying consoles on holidays or shipping them over and them being region locked and unable to use them.

 

I just need to know if it would work if I bought it from NCIX and shipping it over to the UK as £244-£349 is a big price difference because quite frankly i'm sick of seeing these huge price differences as it's not just PS4 it's every other piece of hardware I bought in my PC.

I don't think the playstation 4 is region locked like the xbox 360

You'd need a power adapter and pay customs or VAT whatever you guys do.

 

Not many PS4 games out worth playing IMO. Wait until the new year. Same for Xbox One.

 

Pick up a Vita now and play games like PS1 Classics, PS Vita, and PSP games. Then when you get the PS4, you have Remote Play.

 

That's what I'm doing. 

 

edit: They're not region locked I don't think. I think Sony stopped that practice.

It's $85 shipping on NCIX, Does this not cover import taxes or whatever? And even after adding on the shipping i'd stil be saving over £60

yea, but you need a voltage regulator or something like that( i have a ps3 from the us and i live in europe and have to have a voltage regulator or whatever u call it).

For 50 pounds more than ps4 is sold in UK, you get computer with 6300 and 7870 XT. Pointless to buy ps4. Since you pay like 50$ ( thats like?? 25 pounds) for online every year.

once it hits the border they will end up screwing you over on the final cost they generally do that daily

You would need an adaptor, but yes it will work.

You'd need an adapter yes, If I were you I'd just be patient.

The power thing is not an issue, the PS4 PSU supports multiple voltages you can use any 2 prong power cable with a 3 pin UK plug on it and plug it straight in, for instance the one you plugged into a PS3 slim (not original fat they had kettle leads)
