Can't mine?

I'm trying to mine litecoins, I set up my account+ everything it tells me to do on this thread: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/51985-how-to-start-litecoin-mining/?hl=%2Bhow+%2Bmine+%2Blitecoins

When I run guiminer + cudaminer (open it via using file and clicking on cudaminer, etc)

When I start, it connects for a while then gives me an error that says this:

"Http request failed: empty reply from server"

There's another message I got before that said "Json_rpc_call failed"

OT: just putting it out there, unless your power is free it's probably not worth it.

I already did the math, the calculator at .13$ usd kw/h says I'll make around 400$-500~ a month.

With a Nvidia GPU in mining? The hash rates are crap with the green teams GPUs

Can you confirm this?

@Oskarw90 says he gets 470-570 on his 780 that's overclocked.

Even if I only get 400 kh/s per card: 5vzSi.png

And for the love of god can someone help me instead of continuing to drift away from the OP.

I can confirm getting around 470 OC'd, i clocked it back abit since the extra power consumtion wasnt worth it, and im now running at 445Kh/s I know i posted screenshots in another topic here if u want proof (why would you lie about it anyway? it's still crappy compared to 7950 ;))

Lays, do you have a router? try portforward on the ports that needs to be open.

I would guess it's a port issue or maybe a typo in the config file?

I'll Pm you the screens when i get home tonight if u want... with a gentle overclock im right now at 445Kh/s

I've seen this problem in relation to bitcoins I think, out of curiosity, does litecoin mining rely heavily on mining pools like bitcoin mining does?

I am good at computer

First I'd suggest getting rid of GUIminer all together it really limits with settings. You can get Cudaminer here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=167229.0

Send me a PM with your email, I'll invite you to Liteguardian, an invite only pool. From there I can try to help you get connected with cudaminer and stratum proxy and using a batch file.

I've never used Cudaminer, but I'll see what I can do in terms of helping.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Users cannot, and will not securely manage key material. Most users can't and the ones that can, wont.

Ask me about Bitcoin, Litecoin, Crypto-Currencies, and/or Mining them.
