Best free video editor

I'm looking for a free editor for Windows 10. I've got a Mac with iMovie and accessories to FCP X, but transferring massive gameplay files to it is a pain. Is there any good, not too complicated video editing software I can use?

Yeah, one of the articles I checked out had it at the top. Wanted to check with the forum peeps first. Imma take a look at Davinchi, but it might not run well on my i5, 12Gb RAM, and 1050 Ti.

After having tried Lightworks and Davinci Resolve, I would reccomend Davinci Resolve over Lightworks.

And just remember:
Free version of Lightworks is limited to 720p export, while the free version of Davinci Resolve, you can do up to 4k.

Looks like I'll need Davinci then. 720p is a Lyle low by today's standards.

I would go with the stable 12, just to be safe. But since Mihle tried it, go with what he says.

Free - Offline Install link provided in description (MS pulled the online web-installer)

Supports HIGH Resolution output (once you set it up externally) with a notepad edit,

you can output NATIVE 4K (3840x2160) at 60FPS. (Or other 16:9 Ratio Resolutions)

 

I used this for the first 400 video's on my Youtube channel. (Transitions, Music, Effects) and you can just do multiple passes if need be...

Simple to use, Easy EVERYDAY.

Yeah, I’ve used movie maker before. I’ve currently got Davinci though, just trying to figure out how to set it up. I’ve done a fair bit of editing for a small video procduction company in FCP X, and tried to wrap my head around Premier (failed on that one, and deleted a whole drive of RED footage. Got it back though!). So far Davinci seems to be a cross between the two. I just have to figure out how to get it to play sound and playback without dropping a crap ton of frames. Maybe I should stick to FCP X on my work Mac, though It’s running out of space, and I’d have to find a way to transfer the massive amounts of footage.
