Which Noctua fans for intake+exhaust?

Jz1

hi, re doing the fans in my system. I have the define r5 case with the default fan setup. (1 intake 1 exhaust). I notice a bit of dust near the bottom half section and would like to add more fans.

so my question is, NF-P12 or NF-F12? (will be getting 140mm)

also, I need a fan controller as my core system is old and doesnt have much fan headers so what should I do here?

I would wait on the Noctua fan question. They changed their manufacturing process and moved it from Taiwan to China and there is a very noticeable difference in quality with the move. Gamers Nexus is going to be testing this so I would wait a few weeks before doing this.

I heard about this, but wouldn't this take months for it to hit the shops in Australia? Until then wouldn't the current fans be ok?

Possible, but I wouldnt trust anything new from Noctua right now until further investigation is done by the community.

Neither of those are 140mm fans...

For 120mm fans I'd go NF-S12A, for 140mm fans only the NF-A14 and A15 are relevant (and those are closely related).

curious, my case has a built in fan controller and i think it supports up to 3 fans, what would be the speeds on them given the 3 settings i have (low, mid, high) 5/7/12V

by having the fans connected without the controller and directly to the motherboard what voltage do they run at?
