Hello,

I'm looking to change my current CPU cooler (Evo 212) with something new.

I'm going to be using a i7 6700k as my CPU and my budget for the cooler is around 100€

Something which also looks good would be preferd (Sorry Noctua NH-D15) since the case i'm ussing has a glas sidepannel.

I have been looking at the Dark Rock 3 & Dark Rock 3 pro.

But there are so many options, so i was hoping someone here had a good sugestion and could help me out a bit.

What color theme is your build? Also are you sure you hate the nh-d15? It looks fine IMO. Source: Have nh-d15 with side window.

The dark rock pro 3 is a good alternative though. Just expect more difficulty mounting.

Dark Rock Pro 3 sounds good then. Haven't used it personally, but I've heard good things about it, other than mounting difficulty.

This random guy does a comparison with a bunch of other coolers. 6:40 shows a graph (with higher is better)

That is theoretical... and wrong. I don't see the NH-d15 performing 20% better than the dark rock pro 3.

He is some random guy, not trying to say he's right, but it does show there is very little difference between these coolers (if you look at the other graphs he shows)

One thing people never consider until it's too late is if you're a tinkerer or a builder.

Builder means that you build a computer, then leave it alone unless you're upgrading.

Tinkerer means you're constantly taking it apart, messing around with it, etc.

I tend to tinker with my electronics.

One of the rather, shall we say, frustrating (to put it lightly) things about high end air coolers is that most manufacturers put almost no effort into making it user friendly.  The vast majority of them are a nightmare to put on or take off.

So if you are a tinkerer like me, I'd recommend the NH-D15.  It's great cooling, but not the best, and certainly no where near the prettiest, but oh my god, it is so much easier to put on or take off than every other high end air cooler out there.
