College Computer Science Student/Gamer build

This will be the computer I am taking to college. I was considering buying a nice laptop like every other kid, but I realized a 300 maybe 400 dollar laptop and a premo gaming PC is a much better way to do things. I will be gaming on it playing Fallout, Dolphin EMU, Overwatch, GTA etc. I will also be using this computer for a bit of Photoshop, a little bit of video editing, some GameMaker, and some Coding for Comp Sci

I would like this machine to be futureproof for the next 4 years,I want to be able to play almost all games on MAX settings with 60 fps on 1440. I don't want to have to do any big upgrades within that time. The most I'd like to do is either upgrade RAM or upgrade heat sink

I have saved up money for the past few years on this computer, so something of about max 1200 is fine, but I'd like to keep costs low where they can be with peak performance.

Ryzen seems really good so I think I'd like to use it. One thing that I'm considering is using the stock cooler for the 1600 and just using it at stock temperatures and upgrading in a little bit if I want to overclock instead. I plan on purchasing this tonight, so any finalized build help would be awesome. I'm really excited to make this bad Larry. If you guy have any suggestions to get better performance, or better price, or anything else please comment

Also 1440p @60hz for the next 4 years is going to be really hard to achieve.

You can OC Ryzen pretty high (3.9 usually) on the stock cooler. Also pls highlight all your text and click the Remove Formatting button so it's night-theme friendly, thanks. (left of the text size box)

As for the build, just get the cheapest ATX motherboard with 4+ stars, and why not go with a S340? I mean there's no point in the H440 unless you plan to do a custom loop 

(Or you know, maybe you just like the case design)

A 1080 isn't doing max 1440 60 fps for the next 4 years.  It's probably barely adequate even now.

It's fine if you turn down settings. I bought a 980 Ti, and the guy said he ran it at 4K, just turned down settings to keep the fps up. A 980 Ti is about 1070 level at stock.

I think high 1440p60Hz should be fine for at least 2-3, and he can always SLI another 1080 later for like $300-350 or upgrade.

Yes it will, a GTX 1070 can do it now, and with games only getting more optimised a GTX 1080 would later on.

And from what I've heard, Maxwell GPUs are solid overclockers, and a OC'ed 980 Ti can beat a OC'ed 1070, and get close to a 1080 if you won the silicon lottery.

but games will also get harder to run.

A 780 or even 780Ti can't run all modern games at 1080p60 max, not even GTA V, and is around 4 years old.

yeah esp. the 980Ti, it OCs well past a 1070

Honestly, we can't predict the future, so the best bet is going with the card with the best value, and right now that would be the GTX 1080 (For 1440p anyway).

Yup. And I've got a MSI Gaming 6G version, with the sweet TwinFrozr cooler. Once I fire that puppy up, it should be a beast of a card.
