The issues for Ryzen lies with the motherboard. Check the QVL's for the board you're looking at provided by the board maker. I'll vouch for Asus because my board works really well, and their cheaper offerings do as well. If you're aiming for something that's not too expensive but works well, then their PRIME B350-PLUS is the board worth looking at. X370 boards have more features (such as multi-GPU support, more I/O (Storage, USB, etc)) if you want that.

RMA the boards for your money back or another board?

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

ok so no money is spent, im assumeing full refund. buy the motherboard from another place if you bought them at the same place, and id still go R5 unless you really want to wait for Coffee lake

I know you built the PC on a wood table with the box (assuming you didn't place it on the electrostatic bag if there's one), but what were you standing on at the time is what we're getting at.
