I'm trying to come up with a build for a friend. He doesn't have much money right now as he wants to buy a new guitar as well but he wants a new pc to play games on because right now he's using an AIO Desktop PC with an AMD A6 and the APU graphics.

Price limit is $500 - $550 max, nothing over though. It's going to be used for 1080p, a lot of Free to Play games, quite a few competitive games, but the most demanding things he wants to play for sure with this system is GTA 5, Skyrim, Fallout 4, actually anything Bethesda. His a Bethesda fan boy hardcore. As long as he is getting a smooth 30 fps he doesn't care what settings they have to be on. He just wants something that can actually play modern games. Of course if he gets better than 30fps at 1080p that's just making the dude even happier. He also will record video occassionally. He probably won't record much gameplay but he likes to record videos of himself playing guitar or other instruments and editing them. But most likely he will only be recording those videos in 720 unless he magically gets a new camera too.

Thank you for any help.

Here you go, 555 was lowest I could go with a 1050 ti in there.  I recommend getting a second hand gtx 770/780 or a 970/980 instead but there it is.

Scavenge the hdd from the aio and they can play any current Bethesda game 1080p/60 high quite easily.

wait until mid 2018

Waiting another year isn't exactly something that can be done. He wants it now.

made a few changes to that, wen't with higher clocked ram since Ryzen works better with the higher clocked stuff, and took the storage out because i have a spare ssd and hdd lying around i'm just going to give him. I forgot to include that in the first post. Also case I put is his choice. Would the seasonic psu I chose though be a good choice?

Don't take that PSU, it's way too low for the system, you might experience big issues.

If you plan to upgrade GPU then the 300w PSU will severely limit it

Yes higher speed RAM does look great but you are paying ~$10 more and it isn't worth it imo.

Rest is good, 1500x is great

I hope he can easily come up with an additional $200 then. Only to lose that $200 in value when the eth mining crashes in about 6 months and RAM prices go down.

wait, so why would he need an additional $200?

cool, will lower the RAM then to 2400 and changed the PSU back to your original and I'm still within the budget :D thanks.

Because Compared to 2016, he will be paying $50 more for RAM if he is not willing to wait for prices to fall. same with a GPU. If he cannot wait he needs to expect to pay $150 more than usual going price for an AMD GPU.

Ahhhhhh, okay I was really confused for a minute. Thank you for clarifying. Well cool, I lowered the RAM anyway to slower stuff, when the price does go down on RAM i might try and help him get higher clocked stuff and more of it and that's why I chose a GTX 1050ti. Bitches don't want that card for mining and it's "okay" at 1080 right now so it should take care of his GTA 5 and Bethesda needs.
